Republican Debate - Who watched it?

I want to know which candidate is the most likely to bring about flat-out destruction of our current political system. That's who I'm voting for. Is it Hillary? Bernie? Trump?

Which one will finally derail this runaway train? Enough is enough. Let's put this "representative republic" down, like the sick animal it is. Give me actual Socialism, or give me death. I'm tired of listening to people pretend they give a fuck about this country or what it used to stand for. Just burn it to the ground and let it suffocate in its own ash.

I am on board with throwing cold water on the giant circle jerk that is DC.  Socialism...not so much.

Tend to agree.  A slow drawn out death is worse than a quick one.  I feel like the best bet would be a republican candidate, if they have all three branches locked down I feel like that is the best bet for putting the final nails in the coffin.

We tried this for a few hundred years, learned it wasn't designed perfectly so lets try again.

Agreed with both points. I can't find a single example where pure socialism has worked without horrid side effects. Same with pure capitalism. I think we need to go back to the philosophical well and stop thinking in terms of exclusivity. Yea, I know, good luck with that.

This could be solved by congressional term limits & and an amendment to force members of congress to follow the same laws as US citizens...like insider trading laws for example.

Those that make the rules don't have to follow them.  Isn't that how it is supposed to work???  Congress rights laws that exempt it, lobbyists write laws that exempt the company(industry) that they work for, that congress then passes as their own.

We certainly need rules in place to corral congresspersons but the people that would write them are the same people that don't want them.  We are screwed.

I don't want socialism, but this shit can't continue. I'm just tired of listening to people pretend they care. Nobody wants actual liberty. They want a benevolent master that will care for them and let them pretend they're independent. America is chock full of codependent assholes that care more about football and nascar than they do about the future of their nation. So, fuck it. Burn it down so I can piss on her ashes.

Like the same people that are anti-government, want government out of everything but gladly take their check every month from that same government and the free healthcare as well.

It's not free. Somebody pays for it.

Exactly!  But not them!  But boy will they talk about how the government is evil this and that.  Trying to take away everything....all while sending them a check each month for doing nothing.

Did you guys know that Cuba is the ONLY country in the world that has completly eliminated the transfer of HIV from infected pregnant mothers to there children. Zero children born in Cuba to HIV positive mothers have HIV.

US is in the high twenty percent. We pay for those kids for the rest of their lives via Medicre.

Pay me now or pay me later.

If Cuba would have been less asymmetrical about their wealth distribution and their overall poverty levels, I'd be happy to hear more about their economic models.

I don't think he was necessarily making a comparison about economic models.  Maybe more to do with our terrible medical system that also is the most expensive.  Usually you get more if you pay more, or at least that is supposed to be how it works.  But not for Amurikan healthcare.  Pay more get less.

Got it. Yea, you don't have to convince me that our medical system is sub-par. I want to vomit a little, every time a rich politician or industry giant suggests ours is the best - they have a vastly different stratum of care than what's available to the rest of us. I could go on for hours on that angle alone, especially since it's smacking me dead-on trying to get some spine issues resolved. Let's just say that Europe's care is far superior to ours, at least as it relates to spinal issues.

F'ing Cuba's is better than ours. Ours is a disgrace. Hillary had it right years ago when she was First Lady. We would be past the pain of transition by now and on our way to something acceptable.

The only people that don't want a European system are big pharma, medical device makers, health insurance companies and hospitals.  No one else has a logical reason to not.  But they own "our" politicians so they do what the money says not what their constituents say.

nobody is getting free healthcare.

I know someone that was turned away from the gov site.    he makes $14/hr.  they said he can afford to pay for his own.    and of course stubborn man as he is didn't get any and had to pay the penalty at tax time. (which i do not agree with)

basically if you have a job, you have access to healthcare according to them.  because it's mandatory they offer it.  they don't have to pay for it but they have to have something for you to choose from.  that's what the owner of the shop I work at said.

That's weird and probably not accurate. A good friend of mine in her mid 40s got a bronze-quality policy for $86/mo based on $13/hr. Anyone should be able to get insurance on the exchange - it's just a matter of how much subsidy you'll receive against the premiums.
