motorcycle
I lost the only key to my SV650 a few days ago. I live in Columbus and was wondering if anyone knows of a mechanic or locksmith to remove the ignition in order to make a new key. I don't have the proper tools to do it myself and don't have a way of transporting the bike to a shop.
Tonik
Do you have the key code....usually folks write it in their manual. Dealer can make one with that code.
motorcycle
I wish, I just bought the bike a few weeks ago and it didn't occur to me to write it down and neither did the previous owner Edited August 14, 2015 by motorcycle
Helmutt
Cant the key code be ID'd through the vin? I know dealerships can do it for cars/trucks. Try calling your local Suzuki dealer
Bad324
Pull the lock cylinder and take it and your title to a dealer
Gixxus Christ!
Any locksmith worth his picks can grind you a key with just the ignition switch.
motocat12
Did you drop it in a toilet? As soon as you get a new one you'll probably find it. retrace your steps refresh your memory. Didn't lock it in the tail? And old idiot roommate mailed his (only)key in an envelope to his grandpa. Needless to say it didn't arrive. Bad324
At least you didn't realize you left the key in your house and not the ignition like you always do after loading it and being an hour down the road to deals gap
Helmutt
I know at our dealership ( class 8 truck ) you can call our parts dept with the last 6 of the vin, and about $8 later you have a key cut to code. Hard to believe bike dealers aren't as handy
