2001 xr 650l HELP

I know there is a stiffer detent spring kit out there for the 100's, but I have no idea if that's an issue on the 650's.

Whatever it is, it's just a big single. Can't be THAT hard to fix once you determine which part is faulty, and you have all winter. Stay calm ????

Lower your shift lever a bit. It may be too high for your toe. Make sure your shifts are positive with your foot. If you still have problems you may have a bent shift fork. Only way to diagnose is to disassemble and look. I have complete transmissions if you require some parts.

I am pushing like I mean it lol and like I said it only does this at high rpms the clutch is adjusted out just fine so likely it's the shift fork.anyone know of a guy that would be up for the joB. I live in franklin ohio I am not in a hurry to do it right away I just spend all my money buying the bike.let me know thanks for the insight.

I'm in massillon and can diagnose and do the work but there are likely other mechanics closer to you. I'm not super familiar with the 650 but a trans is a trans. If you have a linkage between the shift lever and the shifter stud check the little ball joints for slop. Other than that, I'd say shift star, forks or dogs as previously mentioned.
