Doug1647545489
I know for my supra the easiest and only way to get to it was to use a oil filter removal tool
Alex1647545498
It's PITA and there's no space for removal tool. When I had to do mine I just have to work it untill it's loose.
Mensan
My oil filter removal tool is the guy that works at the dealership. It's cheap, no reason not to pay for it.
Dave1647545494
they make a round tool that fits on the end of a ratchet and hooks over the end of the filter that'll do the job without too much mess
ohio_wookie
my problem is where the filter is at, and all i have is a set of ramps, so its really hard to get under the car that far, i was just curious if any mr2 owners new of anything i could do to make it easier

Guest nevarmore
If its that much of a pain in the ass, have you considered a remote oil filter mount?? As a bonus since you have to run oil line anyway, you can tap an oil cooler into the system pretty easily at the same time.
Alex1647545498
It really isn't. Not for me any way.
Nitrousbird
Don't be a wussy, get some oil on you. Makes a man out of ya, seriously. Grab a rag, wipe it off, then you are good to go. Why pay $15-25 for something you can do yourself for $8-12? The time it would take me to get my oil changed I'd already have it done. Guest jpurdy2003
Honestly, for the price of a change at Jiffy Lube with store-brand conventional sludge, you could put full synthetic in yourself and reward yourself with a cheesesteak afterwards. It's a no-brainer.
