Browning
I may have a trade lined up for the Explorer. But somebody mentioned I may not be able to get rid of it because it has a salvaged title and needs inspected. Any of you know anything about this? I dont see why I cant. I have the salvaged title, the title from the vehicle I got the parts from, and reciepts from other parts for it.
Tractor
hmm are you planning on putting plates on the vehicle? If so then yes it would need inspected. If your just selling it between parties than I wouldn't worry much and let the next buyer worry about making it road legal. Evan
Browning
Yea, I know I need to get it inspected before I can get plates. I just need to know if I sell it, the buyer can get it inspected correct?
Kohones
Yeah buyer can get it inspected. Word of caution? * make sure buyer pays you CASH * banks won't finance salvage vehicles * again get buyer to give you George Washington's (CASH) Then the purchase is buyers problem, not yours! Browning
Well, I think Im trading it
Total Sign
As Kahones said, paper cash money only. If the title is in your name, sign it and have it notarized, and go INTO the BMV with new owner and watch it get switched to their name They will not have any problems switching the title. But when registering it, there needs to be an inspection.
Browning
Why cash only? I dont see why Id have a problem trading it.
Kohones
Oh you can trade it in! I work for a dealership, I'll tell you what the dlr will give you - probably $500 if you're lucky! Why??? Salvage vehicles have an established "unknown" value. Not my rules, just how it is (I'm sorry) -
