Trouble Maker
I think it's more than safe to say that something like that would not be legal, especially in Ohio. I could be wrong though.
Guest Crucial Conflict
Nope, atleast not in CPD's eyes. My buddy got poped for it, they said it has to be horizontal with 2 bolts and light, not vertical. But in the motorcycle manual for Ohio it only says that you need to have 2 bolts and a light, no certain position or location! I'm going to bolt mine to my jacket to please the 5-0.. I've had 2 unviewable tag tickets in the past 7 months... Thats why they call them pigs... !!!!FTP!!!!!

Crash1647545504
Ok, So if I make my own bracket, that mounts in that position; as long as the plate is horizontal, lights up, and has two bolts on it, it is legal? The position is more what im wondering about. I'd like to get an undertail and seat cowl, and mount my plate down by the wheel like that. Crash1647545504
So it is legal. If I make the bracket so it is horizontal. It's on the rear of the bike,(almost even with the rear of the rear tire) It's illuminated, and visible form 50ft away.
Akula
That is what the law states, infact it doesn't state anything about horizontal or verticle.

smokinHawk1647545499
it must be "perminatly attached" not sure zip ties are considered perminet
Akula
Most zipties are just as reversabile as bolts, you gotta work at it. If bolts are permenant then so are zipties. I am sure you don't have to weld the thing on.
