Scotty2Hotty
Looks like my rear end is puking it's vital fluid. Got fluid all over drive shaft, got the gasket and fluid. Looks like I'll need to yank drive shaft, just checkin if I yank shaft out of yoke to fix gasket? It's a 98 Z28 if you were wondering. stolen 5.0
i don't believe the drive shaft has a gasket. if it's leaking out the back on to the drive shaft it might be your pinion seal. which might be a little tougher than u think. Scotty2Hotty
Pinion seal is what it is, just wondering from F-body guru's, do I need to yank the drive shaft out to fix?? If so, I might do a 4.10 gear while I'm at it
Tinman
If you want 4.10s now is the time. Replacing the pinion seal requires removing the pinion yoke, and yes the driveshaft also. next to setting up a new ring and pinion removing the pinion nut can sometimes me the most difficult step in a gear swap.
