T04E .71AR... does that sound right? smile.gif

Where you turbo guys at! :D

Nope. You need to know the compressor trim, though the AR is a useful number as well.

Here's the deal -- the T04E could flow enough air at high boost for anywhere from ~330rwhp to 500rwhp depending on compressor trim.

The T64 is a much bigger turbo. It's going to be capable of flowing over 600rwhp of air at high boost.

Now, you didn't mention the exhaust sides of either of them -- that will affect spool. It's important to also know what kind of engines they would go on, and what maximum boost can be run. A turbo that is entirely appropriate for let's say a five liter V8 might not be a wise choice for a two liter DSM.

A lot of that I do not know... everything I know about these two turbo's is in here. I'll dig the guy and see if I can find out more...

What motor? Let's just say a 3.8l 231ci 3800 Series II. :D

Here are the pics of the T04E he is using:

You are the mack daddy. :D

If I can find out more I'll post it. smile.gif

You cannot base your assumption on inlet and outlet! 60-1 and 62-1 both have a 4" inlet, but so does the "50"-trim, which is a high boost turbo, with airflow capabilities matching a built 1.6 - 2.0l engine. I can't see any of the pictures, so I cannot comment, but I thought you should be aware.

The only TRUE way to know the turbo's compressor performance is to measure the a/r, inducer, major, and inlet.

I totally agree. I was just assuming that he was trying to figure out what other people's setups were going to be able to do ballpark-wise.

BTW, I was told that the 62-1 was discontinued.

Oh, and smokinHawk -- the T72 has a better peak efficiency island and better surge line than a 76. The only reason a 76 needs cubes is because the inferior surge line precludes it's use on a smaller engine. tongue.gif

(People make over 700 at the wheels with a T72, and over 900 at the wheels with a T74 on some poor little old 3.0 liter. ;) I'd recommend one of those instead. tongue.gif )
