It seems like you're not getting any spark in at least one cylinder. Last fall it fixed the same stuttering and hesitation in my '83 Corolla. Turns out number three had no spark. Even if it doesn't fix it, it probably needed them anyways, and if you show your Corolla lovin' with some new plug wires, she might just show you a few more MPG.
