Guest No_Speed4_You
Anyone ever done this or know someone that can? I just got a special edition HALO xbox and want to put a chip in it. I really just looking for playing emulators on it for other game systems and copying games on it after I get a bigger HD. Any help would be appreciated. thanks! Guest Rane
I want this too, how much does it cost? And can I get a switch to turn the mod chip off for when I want to use Xbox live or something?

Guest Rane
you put something called "mod chip" into the system that makes it be able to read burnt games, japanese games ETC. Its my understanding that with the Xbox it also allows you to save a game(s) on the Xbox's hard drive. The emulation thing was refering to Saving Emulators/Roms on to the hard drive, and Emulator acts like a video game system Super nintendo Sega etc. Its used to play a rom wich is a copy of a game from one of those systems. Mod chip lets you save whatever games(Xbox, Super nintendo etc.) and the emulators you need to play them. So your Xbox can do everything, any system whatever :-D. I believe anyhow. My main concern is if I want to use Xbox live on DDR can I switch it off, or can they make a switch I've heard they could.
VDUB
depending on cost I may also be interested in this.
Trouble Maker
Tech TV articles on moding your XBox, general info, has some good links. http://www.techtv.com/unscrewed/ihateyou/story/0,24682,3544856,00.html One of those good links is this site, looked through it a little, looks like some good info on there too. http://www.xbox-scene.com/ As far as I know the XBox mod chip simply lets you played copied games and lets you use other utilities, install 'programs' on the XBox. These programs allow you to do things with your XBox, such as mirror games on your HD or a media player for instance.

Guest Rane
Inspectka check your PM's, for $30 I get a mod chip and he puts it in? Or you just put emulators and stuff on there? I am intrested, very soon. Does he know how to put in the chip or whatever so I can turn it off when I want to use Xbox live?
Trouble Maker
Rane, I doubt you get a chip for that. The chip themselves cost more than that.
