It seems like most people who've weighed in with their opinion perceive cosmetic surgery to be acceptable if it is to enhance some abnormality (e.g., crooked teeth, a deformed limb, skin charred through burns or scarred by way of injury), but not if it is to enhance an otherwise "normal" appearance (e.g., breast implants, butt implants, etc.). Said a bit differently, folks here seem to think it's okay to want to get yourself back to looking average, but not okay if you want to look better than average. Just an observation.
