Guest doggunracing
I'm polishing some aluminum calipers in my spare time and am trying to find some very fine sandpaper (1000+ grit). Anyone know of a local place with a good selection?
Skinner
the NAPA on 161 should have that.
copperhead
your friendly local neighborhood paint store should have a fine selection of whatever you are looking for
Nitrousbird
I believe you can even get it at Meijer. Not hard to find at all.
Guest doggunracing
Well, neither Lowe's nor Home Depot had 1000+ grit, so I was wondering how hard it was to find locally. The 161 Napa has a very good selection however, thanks.
Mensan
You can use steel wool as well. Lowes or Home Depot should have it.

After that finish it off with aluminum polish. Scratches will go away, but it won't happen in 5 mins or anything.
GonneVille
If you want a mirror finish, jeweller's rouge and a polishing wheel on a Dremel is the fastest way to get it. Plus jeweller's rouge won't leave any scratches behind. Your best bet to find the rouge is a place called Byzantium, a bead store on High St near 3rd Ave. If you need something a bit coares go with a Dremel finishing abrasive pad.
