great improvement in responses </not_sarcasm> i am trying to get my own account set up so that i can control where my money goes and whatnot. i rarely spend money, $15 a month to play World of Warcraft is probobly it, and the last major investment i made was on a new DDR pad.

side question: do you have to pay insurance on a vehicle that is being built? for example if i bought a car and didnt drive it, but left it in my garage to build it up.

Just so long as you are not driving it, it does not have to be insured. It wouldn't hurt to have fire and theft insurance on it though. However, the BMV *MAY* decide to send you a letter saying that you must prove that you have insurance, or that the car is not in running condition. In order to not have to worry about that happening, don't get tags for it. If you already have tags and plan on having the car down for a long time, like a year or longer, surrender the plates to the BMV.

Look, this is what you should do. Keep whichever car your grandparents give you and sell the van and the porsche parts that you have. Put the money you get from selling the van and porsche parts in the bank and let it gain less interest than inflation, thereby losing money in tommorow

s dollars. Then, GET A JOB. Drive whichever car your given as long as you can, until it either completely falls apart, dies, or you really have to spend alot of money to keep it running. All along, continue to save as much $ as you can. Then, once your around the age of 21, you should be able to handle something sporty and with some good engine power. These next few years riding around in a saturn or a cavalier may seem like an eternity, but believe me, it'll be worth it, as long as you get a job and save all the money you can.
