Browning
Never used ebay before. Anything I need to know, or need to look out for? What if the bidding doesnt get to the point I intended it to be? Can I pull out or? Can somebody give me the basics?
Gergwheel1647545492
Basically you set a "reserve" price and that is the lowest price you will take for it. If the auction doesnt meet that price then there is no obligation on the sellers behalf to sell the item at the price the auction ended at. Browning
and if you dont set a reserve, you have to sell correct?
Dave1647545494
correct... you can also set the opening bid at whatever you want...
Browning
what about the amount in which you have to bid?
Gergwheel1647545492
it goes up according to what the current bid is. i.e. if current bid is $.05 then next bid will be like $.10 but if it is currently at $100.00 then the next bid will be at $110.
street pilot
I know a lot of people dont like reserve auctions, so consider stating the reserve price in the auction or just start the bidding close to what you want. Just an idea. If you want it to be all fancy style with flash and shit, carad.com does that but its like $10 more. It is nice though, because you can start building your listing, and work on it for a couple days before actually listing it. put a lot of pictures up, and make sure to put some statements to cover your butt, like "sold as-is", no returns, buyer responsible to look at truck before bidding, etc. I have sold a couple of bikes on ebay and I always say they are welcome to check it out in person, and I encourage it, but no one ever has. But if you tell them to, at least they cant say some shit like "its not what I expected." good luck. (my dad is looking for a truck, what is it?) Total Sign
You might get more out of it if you go on ebay, buy some small auctions, get good feed back. Many people are leery of buying from a 0 feedback seller, especially on a high dollar item.
