So here is the scenerio. Have a 96 chebby work van, 4.3 v6. Curent tranny is going the wayside. Picked up a replacement tranny, but it is the older non computer one.

Buddy is gona put in the non computer one so that he can get around.

We are going to make a bracket so the downshift cable will function.

Also going to swap the manual and electronic spedo drive.

Questions:

1. What pins on the 13 pin conector run the tourqe converter lock up?

 

2. Is there an adapter that is a direct fit instead of hacking the wiring harness?

 

3. If not, it there a module or wiring digram so the computer wont freak out when the transmission isnt there? Basicly a module that fools the computer into thinking there is a tranny there and it has control over it.

 

 

4. Anything else I am missing?

for the speedo, just swap your tail housings and drive gear. Im trying to find the other info now:)

All I can say is make sure to adjust that kick down cable before you drive it. I had a buddy put a brand new one in my p/u when I was at work. 10 miles later it was broke again. I called the dealer and asked him what happened. He told me that since we put a new cable on and didnt adjust it we were lucky to get that many miles out of it.

We found a diferent tranny, this thread can be deleted or moved as fit.
