1eclipse1t Posted October 13, 2005 Report Share Posted October 13, 2005 It's not to hard. There are 4 mounts, the one by the the belts, and the one in the front by the radiator are the easy ones. The one under the intake by the firewall on the driver side is a little tuff. The mount on the tranny under the battery tray is stupid, you have to let the tranny down really low to get it out. But I cant remember if you have to take that one out or not to pull the motor. the rest is just some wires and hose clamps like every thing ells. Guest KurtNew5 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Share Posted October 27, 2005 you do not have to pull the tranny to take out the 420a motor... but, would be ALOT easier let me tell ya, i just replaced the motor in my 99 eclipse rs - it wasnt the easiest to get out but putting it back in with the tranny still in is a bitch, i would take the time and drop the tranny if i was you.. might save you some time in the end.
