TheBussman1647545507
I Need a cheap car that is reliable, that gets good gas millidge. i'll need to have it from now, all the way though winter and to drive back and fourth to colladge next year. requirements: MUST be a Toyota, (chevy/geo, nova/prizm is good too) this is because my dad is a distinguished Toyota master mechanic, AND i get half off toyota parts, and i like Toyota's. needs to be a 5-speed (no 4-speed manual tercel's i HAVE to have overdrive) EFI is not quite a need but a relly relly relly relly big want I don't care about body work very much, i expect to have to do some work right after i get it to get it road worthy, that's ok, and i expect to have to do a tune up and stuff to. don't care what model it is, kinda leaning tword a corolla or celica though. anything works though van/truck/wageon/hatch/coupe/sedan and if it has a 4age in it a big plus because i currently have an MR2 with one so id' be nice to swap parts and what not. Berto
I will be selling my corolla probably within a month I will be asking $600 it has 265k but i've drven it for three years and its great. when i was driving to honda for work I would get 40 mpg. I recently did the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. 2 yrs ago it got a new clutch transmission and half shafts other new parts include alternator, cap rotor wires, water pump and timing belt done last year i believe. The AC doesn't work, its kind of wierd actually the compressor works when you engage the clutch with a 12v source but when its hooked up where it should be it doesn't work, i let it be but the system was converted to 134 and the compressor works when you "jump" it like I explained above. air does come out cold. It has rust, The crankshaft seal is leaking oil but not enough for me to have to refil between the 3k miles oil changes. If i were keeping the car i would replace it. Recently the flexpipe developed a hole in it but thats easy enough to fix i just am lazy. most the exhaust piping is new withing 2 yrs, including the stock replacement muffler. Its a great car only reason i'm selling it is becaus ei'm graduating and buying an 2007 daily driver. has pioneer CD player and an air horn since the stock horns were lame. i think 600$ is very reasonable for this car. I might go cheak out the truck too. Anybody know if the 86 was fuel injected? i'm guessing not.

Kuruma
I'm thinking of trading or selling my red AE86 coupe (silver hatchback included as a not-properly-running parts car, or a 2nd car to fix and drive) to get into something I don't have to spend thousands on an engine swap for to get decent power out of seeing as people say the paradise racing power pack makes the gas mileage really suck... Kuruma
With the red coupe, Not much, suprisingly. The car could probably use a tune up including adjusting the valve clearances, and a replacement carb wouldn't hurt either, but I drive it as my daily, which means I've been delivering pizzas using the car. It also made the drive down to cinci and back this past weekend without any bitching at all. The annoying things are of course a bit of the good old toyota rust (Body is actually really good, but the quarters need the loving touch of your local bondo pirate), the speedometer isn't working, and the fuel gauge isn't working too good (may be a problem with the cluster, may be the sensor, either way I have 2 extra clusters, and the hatch as a good speedometer cable). Tranny shifts good, clutch hasn't slipped once, engine is still more then strong enough to have an arguement with it's rear tires and win. Stereo is a stock Toyota head unit and normal OEM speakers, sounds very good when the equalizer is set right. Power sunroof that works without one bit of complaint. Windshield has a bit of a crack in it, $130 to replace it at Glass Masters. Tinman used to own the car and sold it to a friend of mine, who decided my Geo Metro convertible was a more appropriate car for him then a RWD 5-speed, so we traded cars. The hatchback can be started, but can't really be taken out on the road, the alternator is dead, the carb is fucked up, and the car just does not run properly at all. The interior has a very good carpet, and anything that isn't working on the coupe IS working on the hatch, so the hatch can donate anything needed to fix what the coupe does need. The only reason I'm even thinking about parting with my AE86 is just because I'd like to have a 1st gen MR2 or a Fiero, since the cost of just buying a more powerful car to start with is less then the cost of an engine swap, or the purchase price of the paradise racing power pack and installation cost of said pack. (not to mention the realization that while the car could make 110hp with the power pack, it's going to rape the fuel economy into Rotary and V8 land without any of the benefits)
