Hello everyone, Joined up here hoping to find some people that are pretty cool and open minded when it comes to cars, too many groups are full of trolls that know little or nothing about cars but love to pretend to. lol!

Anyway,

My car is a 1985 Fiero GTP, no they never "made" a Fiero GTP (well unless you count the 1990 prototype) but its all about whats inside really. I removed the "boat anchor" (stock 2.8L) for something with a little (100 more) horse power and a bit (110 more) ft/lbs of tq. Stock at BEST i ever did in my Fiero was 15.7.... not bad for the boat anchor. So it should prove slightly faster (13 flat) with the new engine.... Oh yes... by now if you dont know, the engine i swapped in is a 3800 Series II SuperCharged V6. Its mated to the slightly weaker of the 2 5 speeds offered in the Fiero. But, hell, its a 5 speed and people bolt V8s to them. It will be ok, i hope.

The engine itself is stock. I want to get some serious time on it stock before i go all buck-nuts on it modding it. Then ill know that ANY problem that may arise has nothing to do with the swap itself.

I DO however have an intercooler from ZZP and a Thrasher MPS w/ 3.2 pulley here already waiting to go in. And i have a line on a nice priced set of Stage III heads.

I have quite a few friends (in Michigan unfortunatly) that have the same swap i do. They have had their cars at the track also... My friend Stan (aka Big Dutch Bastard - cause hes big and from the Netherlands) has a bone stock L67 that runs 13s (flat) all day long.

My friend KC has an L67 swap with intercooler, dinkey pulley, injectors, rockers, & fuel rails and hes in the low 12s.

And since i never have too many projects going at once... My buddy Mikee has a Fiero, and i decided after driving mine around... then his... that his stock Fiero was too-damn-slow. So we pulled his engine out and stuffed in an aluminum block Cadillac 4.9L V8.

If your interested i got lots of pics, and some vids.

Other Rides:

1997 Grand Prix GTP

1995 BMW 325i

Thanks for looking! Take care!

Damn. Nice sig. I have always loved the fastbacks.

Thanks, yeah it didnt start life as a fastback. Its an 85 so she was a notchie... But with a few bolts... drill out a few rivets and in a few hours ANY Fiero can be a fastback! ;)

I had an 88 Black GT 5sp with the black rims and a polished lip, but it finally let go and I sold it for $1000. I got 155K out of it. It is up in cleveland somewhere and it has a V8 in it now. Welcome.

WOW... only a GRAND!?!?! If that thing had any less then 150K on it she could sell for 5K at least ;)

If you ever sell another one give me a buzz!

BEEFCAKE - sorry, sig is fixed!

Where do you guys have meets at? Ill have to look around the forum for the next one. I have a FULL week of not this comming week but the week after that. Plant shutdown.

I have to get an alignment done on the Fiero because the suspension is ALL brand NEW, from ball joints to polly bushings. So i would probably take the GTP to any meetings for now.

Yeah I just wanted to get rid if it, it' didn't run, clutch was bad, brakes were bad, paint was bad(Clear coat was gone). It was sitting in a condo complex and we were getting notices to get rid of it so she was loaded on a flat bed. I really liked the car. It handled really well it just needed more balls. I was thinking of turboing it like the guy in Gahanna has in his 87 GT Maroon one. But I went to the dark side and went to import cars. I think the only way I will ever go back to domestic cars is if I can get a 06+ Vette or Viper.

There will be a bunh of cool people and idiots at the Thrift Store tonight.

Yeah deffinetly can get the more balls outta the 3800 swap. Turbos are eh... ok... The stock boat anchor cant take much. There is a guy that works with me who has a FULL engine rebuild with a turbo and the car pushes 14s. not bad, but for the 5K he invested... My swap cost me about.. 2k er so.

Yep. I used to work on Fiero's a lot when I lived in cleveland. Owned an 84 and an 85. I wanted to do a Fino conversion on one but ran out of cash first. lol

Hello V8archie. lol

Nice car. I was into Fieros for quite a while. I was looking for one, but decided against it for the time being. It would be cool to do a 3.4DOHC or a 3.8 S/C since those seem to be the most cost effective swaps. (Well besides the caddy 4.9, but that's a torque monster that's a little short on HP for me.)

Welcome.
