such high aspirations for that bike ben why wont he run anyone ????

Its only got 1000 miles on it and I am still getting used to the power. Its a big step up for me! :)

There's your answer, from the horses mouth.

As Ron Jeremy said: With great power between your legs comes great responsibility!

And besides, when did I say I wouldnt run anyone? Tinman and I are setting something up soon. I couldnt run him the other night cause the wife was out of town that weekend and just got home. I had some other things to take care of

He's scared to run it.Just joking ,of course,I would be reluctant to run something with that much power until I got used to it.My question is when do you get used to 197 hp on a bike?I am envious, looks good.

Thanks Kevin! I dunno, I was planning on messing around with it on the way home from work, but of course, accident on 270 :(

Not bad but......

I think you should have it dynoed so you aren't surprised when people give you shit about the plate.

197HP!?!?!

Thats what KHI states the engine horsepower level is with the ram air in effect. Basically, its the most efficient ram air system to date on any bike. With no ram air, its 185hp. Typically, they seem to be dynoing in the 165-172hp, 95-110tq range in stock trim. Too bad there isnt a "ram air" dyno to see what kinda performance increase it provides.

Here is what KHI published:

I am not bragging about anything with the plate. It was actually a gift from my wife to me. This is the first personalized plate I have ever had, and I was prepared to use my old one for this bike too.

Kawasaki has released their final (claimed) horsepower and torque specs for their highly anticipated ZX-14 sportbike. Many media outlets had expected Kawasaki to claim 200hp for the ZX-14, but Kawasaki defied expectations - the published specs are 187hp and 113.5lb-ft of torque, with 197hp when the ram-air system is in effect.

Wasn't this the case with the Firehawk and other ram air F bodies? They gained HP when moving? Kinda hard to have ram air when dynoed sitting still......

Eric - i have never been a shit talker. I have been on this board since 01 and I dont think I have talked shit more than 2 times. I perfer to just be friendly and casual about things. I have nothing to prove, which is why I dont talk trash. I wanted a 12R since they came out, and now that I can afford one, I got a 14! :) I bought this bike for me, not anyone else. I could care less what people say about it being ugly, slow, etc I love it for what it is! Besides, its more fun to take it through some twisties!! I love the off corner torque!!

Um no. IIRC the GM ram air was a joke. I remember a couple guys over at the Don Scott windtunnel laughing at one they tested. The real accomplishment was they made good hp in spite of the induction hoods.

Came this -><- close to buying one in all black to replace my black ZX-11, but then I couldn't get past the side slats and the nose. Nice looking bike, but not quite enough to get me to bite yet. Same for the busa. I'll stick with my 145hp 10yr old zx11. :)

Now, if some aftermarket pieces came out to replace those slats, I'd be all over one of these (wife willing).
