Sam1647545489
Can a bias ply skinny be ran in the front of a car and a e.t street radial be ran on the back of a car at the same time. If not then why not...
Mopar
yeah.that is what most people do to have less rolling resistence.
desperado
For straight line, you should be ok. trying to 'drive' a car with such a setup makes for some wierd handling issues. The radials will not flex as much in the sidewall as a bias ply, typically the bias plys are on the rear. It makes the rear end feel loose, more or less. As far as running them up front, it will make the car feel delayed in turning the wheel and will require some getting use to the delay as you turn the wheel and having the tires flex before the car begins to turn. Like I said though, for drag racing it should not be a problem, but I wouldn't try to salom the car, or do alot of street driving with it. If you are talking about the vette specifically, then you should consider the contact patch beig smaller, coupled with the bias ply flex on the street. It's gonna screw the handling and 'drive-ablilty' of the car bad. You could putt around like that, but long pulls and roll racing should not even be considered. The car will loose traction on the front end and understeer badly at speed.
Tinman
It is not a good idea to mix radial and bias plys. The different types of construction do not react the same. But if it were to be done, it would be best to have the bias plys on the front. It's likely you won't have any problems at the strip, but if your car starts to get a little too loose, it will be a handful gathering it back up with mismatched tires. Guest Hal
I wouldn't see too much of a problem assuming your car doesn't get too loose at the track. Trailoring it up you should be fine.
Sam1647545489
YEs this is for my car. I was goin to borrow a friends skinnies for the front of my car which are bias and run my rears which are radials. This would be for the track only as the car would be trailored to the track. Guest Hal
Having the skinnies up front should help your car a lot with traction. Getting some weight off of that front end will allow for better weight transfer to the rear. Just be careful if she gets loose.
