Need a new battery for my Mustang

For half the price of an Optima you can get a marine deep cycle battery from anywhere, that does the same thing, and lasts longer. The only use for this is for serious car audio setups. For everyone else, Interstate is about as good as it gets, and isn't any more expensive than the next thing.

The optimas hold up better to shock.

Batteries Plus Werker batteries seem to kick ass for 50 bucks.

How much shock are you talking? I"m sure they are built with a better casing, but a standard battery has to be able to handle quite a bit of shock anyway to even be in a car. If it were me I wouldn't waste the money on an optima.

Also Interstate has become nearly the worst battery on the market. United Rental was even a dealer for them and dropped them due to so many defective products and poor customer support. I haven't found a good battery in a long time. The best one I had was an old marine one from Sams Club. That battery lasted a long time under very hard conditions. Since that one I've went through alot of walmart/advance autoparts batteries of all price ranges with no real luck.

10+G's of shock, in a boat. Reg batteries normally last a summer or two at max. I have ran optimas for 3 years now no problems.

Like you said, in a car there really isnt much of a difference, and they aren't worth the money.

Go to Batteries Plus, for their $50 battery you cant go wrong.
