I would like help tracking down my dad's old rally car

For some reason, today I decided that I wanted to track down the Audi 4000CS Quattro rally car that my dad built probably 10 years ago or so. It is (or was) black with a yellow nose, and it had BMW headlights. It also had 2 Hella lights on the front, as well as holes drilled into the hood on both sides for ventilation. I dont have memberships to all the major VW/Audi forums, so I am turning to you guys for help. I have been searching all day to no avail.

Here is a pic (I have more, I will upload them later), all were taken after we sold it by the next owners.

Pat,

I sent a note to the Central Ohio Rally Club and will try and find an email address to get a note to the Rupp's who were actively rallying at the same time. I'll let you know what I find out. Do you just want to know where it is-who owns it, or are you going to try and get it back?

I have been in the SCCA and now Rally america since 2002 and have never seen that car at any events(i have been from Portland to Maine). No one runs cars that old or audi's because they dont pay any money for wins or place.

Sorry to say its probally totalled, parted, or sitting in barn.

Get ahold of Sue Robinson of the SCCA she is very knowledgeable about the old cars and people if it raced more than once.

Tom's GTX is cool, if he would ever sell it, which I dont think he will, I would swoop that up too lol

Tom and my dad were friends, and we were neighbors for the first half of my life, back when I lived on Brighton Road. We also went with them to the US Grand Prix in 2001.

If you have been involved since 2002 then you wont have seen it. I think it got turned into a Hillclimb car around 2000, and that is when I lost track of it. It would pop up here and there on rallyclassifieds, but recently I havent seen it.

  • 1 year later...

Its been almost two years since I posted this thread, asking for help to find my dad's rally car.

I still haven't found it.

I stopped the search for a while, just kind of forgot about it really, but I would like to pick it up again. I know we have a few more Audi guys now then we did a few years ago, so I would really appreciate it if some guys could help me out.

Again, thank you for your time and support.
