they are one of the cheaper kit on the market.they are nice, but not the way i would do one.

And which way would you go? The Hunter kit?

Bill, the Cobra kits start out at $13,999 I believe. But you still need a donor car, (87-93 mustang 5.0) as well as a few other odds and ends.

You can buy them already finished, or like partially done, but someone can't finish and sells for a loss.

My dad bought his this past summer for $17k running, driving, painted, etc, turn key roadster. BUT its the mk1 gen so its slightly outdated, and its got a bone stock 302 in it. They are on the mk3 style now. Great price, considering most go for $20-$35k.

I just bought a used frame, and have been pieceing together my own Cobra since. I had bought a 90GT back last summer and am using a lot of parts from that to help my project. Total cost I've put in so far, is about$3500- $4000 I think, I've kept an excel spreadsheet, but that's off the top of my head. My car is a complete roller, w/ brakes, steering, suspension and drivetrain. I'll have it finished, body, paint, interior, etc, for shy of $10k but its a LOT more work than buying a kit.

My last one { I have built 3 ffr's } cost me in the mid to upper 30's. However it was new everything, and I did sell it for more than I had in it. B-J just sold a ffr for 73K at auction. The red one is my second and the silver one is my last one. http://s62.photobucket.com/albums/h84/jeffpriest/

ERA ,Kirkham are very accurate cars.

FFR's can be built with big blocks, independant suspension or any other options you might want to add. If you are looking for an accurate car .. then you will have to look at the ones you listed. You will also come in around 75+. Have you seen Kirkham's aluminum bodies polished?

If I had my choice of companies I would go with either of those 2. But for bang for the buck I would go with FFR.

not so much a accurate car.there ones on 460ford.com that has a 598ci 385 series bb in it with a f-3 reverse mounted on it. I was going too build me a drag/street car out of one. And yes, Era's bodies are very good looking. I know i can pull the motor right out of my foxbody and it will drop right in the mounts on the FFR kit. still not what i would have done.

so stop tryying too bash MO.

When I think kit car, this is what I think of. It was out at Londons cobra show this past year. It weighed something like 2200lbs, or something rediculous along those lines, with a 500+ hp vette motor in it. The whole inside was basically carbon fiber.
