You get him by phone one time after that when he says the Military has changed his orders...ya da ya da ya da...and then you never see him again. Beware of seller if he looks like this guy!!! http://columbus.craigslist.org/rnr/285300528.html WARNING ARI THE CAR CON IS ON THE LOOSE!!! Reply to: pers-285300528@craigslist.org Date: 2007-02-27, 12:36AM EST Hello Again w/ Warning Reply to: (see message body) Date: 2007-02-26, 10:51PM A few days ago he tried his scam with a '99 Honda for $500 w/ the Iraq story again. Other vehicles used so far are a '96 white Dodge Intrepid w/ dent on hood & driver's door & red pinstripe and a Black BMW. The cops still don't have him; he's still trying to scam innocent people that work for their money!!! Ari "I will continue to post until everyone is paid back or you are in prison!!! YOUR CHOICE! The police will do the rest!!!" His address is 3356 Cranston Dr. Dublin, OH, cell 614-507-2119, feel free to call anytime-night or day!!!! Sometimes he asks for $$ as soon as you first pull up. He has a yellow ribbon on the back side of the car (driver side) and asks you if you can leave it on until he comes back from Iraq. The BMW is his MOTHER's that he used for one of his scams. Here are a few of the responses that I have received regarding this Scam Alert!!! 1) There is some guy who is posing as an individual who is being deployed to Iraq & is in need of selling his car immediately, saying he will buy a car when he gets back in 6 mos. 2) He says that he can show the car on Monday & that he is leaving that night for deployment, when you get there he has the hood w/ the engine running but doesn't want you to turn it off due to a supposed bad battery. He then tells you he has priced batteries & will discount the car $100 so you can buy one. He then asks for a few hundred to hold it for you & explains that he was called in the morning & his deployment was put off until the following Monday & he has to have a car to drive until then so he can say all of his good-byes to family & friends. The following Monday he claims to have physical workouts early in the morning up until 10am, any time after 10am is ok to set the final payment & switch the title over...He never shows & never returns your calls. With this particular scam he was using a white '96 Dodge Intrepid. Oh, by the way if you ask for ID he forgot it in the car or at home or where ever is convenient. 3) He initially asks for a $150 to $200 cash, but then asks for $300 just to be safe. He gives you a huge line that this is the biggest thing he has ever sold on Craigslist & is very skeptical about selling it this way! He even dresses in Army fatigues for the full illusion!!! The name he used on me was Ari Kostakis. Be forewarned!
Clifford Automotive
well i find this quite easy to manage. lets set him up. one person go to "buy" the car another person be a spotter and follow him to where he really goes.
