But like Earl noticed, she went off with another guy first, albiet by blackmail. She had the choice to not go in the first place, preventing all of following events that took place with her. Should she be punished for breaking their law? Of course, she still had the free will to simply not go. If you go to rob a bank, and in the process someone else comes in and robs it at the same time shooting and killing people, should you not go to jail too for initially robbing the bank?
