Guest Hal
Well, something is up with my car AGAIN. It didn't make much power, and I couldn't "spool" a damn roots blower! Oh well, here is the pic. Flame away. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f277/punkhott712/Dyno28upper4lower.jpg
V8 Beast
Its only May. You have plenty of time to get it dialed in.
RedRocket1647545505
Belt slipping from 4500+?
Guest Hal
It could be, but that boost drop off is because I don't have a ported blower. I'm actually concerned about 2-4k rpms.
Guest 5.7
thats... ugly... i think my 03 cobra put down that much with an exhaust, intake and a tune..
Mensan
Wow, that doesn't look like it's running right. What has been done to it? Who did the work?
Guest Hal
All it is, is a pullied cobra. I did the lower, IPS did the upper. The boost ran fine last year. I'm not really upset about the power, that will be fixed later. I'm lost in regards the boost though. Neither I nor Brian have ever seen a cobra dyno like this. The motor appears healthy right now, I'm worried about the blower though. I may have killed it last year.
Guest Hal
Here is how a typical cobra graph should look. http://www.modularfords.com/forums/attachments/2003-2004-mustang-cobra/37386d1173886489-dyno-test-results-stock-03-jlt-and-jlt-cf-cai-tn_03-cobra-stock-jlt-cf-jlt.jpg
MrMeanGreen
That's pretty whacked out looking, Hal. Have you taken the blower apart and looked for anything wrong? I don't like your A/F, either.
thorne
that AF anit to bad. a 11.9 on a boosted car is still safe. Now my car ohhh yeah 12.9 thats not safe. That is also why i bought a WB
MrMeanGreen
I'm referring to the spike, still at safe levels or not.
Miller
Flame away. I'm going to eat you on motor skanklet
Rally Pat
Think of it this way, even if it wasnt very stable, your car still made 4 times what mine does when it is cold outside.
MaTS1200
It certainly looks like a lot of belt slip to me. Here's my boost graph with a 2.80 upper only Eaton. I was seeing 12PSI right off the hit. You should be at 16PSI at 2300-2400 RPM. Low timing also killing your numbers a bit but not a bad idea for boost level on pump gas. Make sure your seeing 20in of vac. at idle. you could have a leak. http://home.columbus.rr.com/cobrapics/boost.JPG
Boost-n-Juice
Yeah, I would say you have some belt slipping issues. Isn't there a kit out for that? Adds an extra pulley or something?
Guest Hal
Yeah, there are a lot of different options for it. I had a snub idler before, but got rid of it over the winter. I'm still playing with it and working on what I want to do with it and some other things.
996gangsta
I'm sure youll get it worked out Hal. Also, Matt nice meeting you this weekend.
RedRocket1647545505
Put some VHT on the belt and try it again. See if that doesn't help.
integranator
I'm referring to the spike, still at safe levels or not. Spike? I'm seeming to miss it. That a/f looks perfect.
RedRocket1647545505
Spike? I'm seeming to miss it. That a/f looks perfect. Kind of my thought as well.
Dave1647545494
I think he's talking about the spike right after it rolls into the throttle right before it drops down into normal too much or too little timing can do that too my 5.0 fell off at like 4k and my base timing was off a bunch
MaTS1200
Also, Matt nice meeting you this weekend. Nice meeting you too. That's the meanest sounding Supra I've ever heard.

Guest Hal
Damnit, you had the supra out? I wanted to see it BTW Cavin, what size is your turbo and what RPM are you hitting full boost?
Mitch
You weren't the only one disappointed on the dyno that day. I'm busy chasing down fuel gremlins so that I can safely raise the boost good to meet you.
