Nitrousbird Posted May 31, 2007 Report Share Posted May 31, 2007 My downstairs bathroom (split level home, 3 levels), is an add-on, and wasn't exactly well done. The water line feeding the toilet corroded and now leaks BEHIND the shut-off valve. I need this repaired. I'm not into plumbing work. If it was after the valve, I'd do it myself. But before = shutting water off to house, repairing, and making sure it doesn't leak again. Shut the water off, cut the sheet rock, cut the joint , sweat the new joint, pressure test, redo drywall. done! really not hard, you just need some patience and if you have never sweat(ed?) copper before, do a few test peices before you attempt the actual fitting. i've seen people really jack some up before and it's a bitch to try and clean up to redo it if you mess it up.
