Casper
Maybe we can move this up a bit? Gonna be cold titties in the mountains in September.Has anyone already got their vacation time locked for this?On a side note;who gives a shit about football????I'm flexible on dates. Zerocrash? Think you could change the date?I already sent out my vacation request, but it's early enough I can change it. But we need to decide ASAP.I love OSU football, but I love riding more. zerocrash
I'm flexible on dates. Zerocrash? Think you could change the date?Yeah it shouldn't be a problem at this point as long as you're not thinking too much sooner. A week or two shouldn't be an issue though. CbrGirl
Remember We got Indy August 27-30. So pushing it up a week or two is no good. You would have to push it up at least three weeks. Leave on August 14th and come back August 24th.

wolfman
I'm fine with whatever itinerary we decide on. I was just trying to figure out when I would need to part from the group to make it home a day early without killing myself.
Earache
I'm fine with whatever itinerary we decide on. I was just trying to figure out when I would need to part from the group to make it home a day early without killing myself.I'm sitting in Ouray, Colorado as I type this. Just spent the last week driving all over New Mexico and Colorado. I suggest we make a change and skip Santa Fe and add in Gateway, Colorado.Reasons: Santa Fe has great food. But the roads are kinda average and the freakin' town closes at 9:00 PM each night. Plus, it's a 400 mile long hike to get back into Colorado. It'd take a full day to get into New Mexico and a full day to get back out. That'll kill us on a one week long trip.Gateway is fantastic, great riding and Moab, Utah - along with Arches and Canyonland Nat'l Parks - is nearby. With great roads leading there and back.Gateway has one hotel and it's a great place as well. Ain't cheap with single rooms going for $110 or so and doubles around $200. Great pool in the desert and no one is ever there. Best place to go in the USA. Great pool in the desert sun surrounded by bluffs and mountains. Freakin' excellent. So, what say you? Earache
Some pics form Gateway today. Dont; worry about the snow, it'll all be long gone by the time we'd get there. The hotel...The inside is as cool as the outside. The bar area... Earache
Ben and I hammered out some firmer details of the trip over a couple of beers at The Elevator Bar last night....Not now, but within the next 60 days, we need to firm up who's going and figure out who's rooming with whom. Then we need to get some reservations going. We should have enough flex room to add or delete one or two people.I'll get the reservations all sorted out as I know where the hotels are, etc. You'll just need to give me a credit card number and I'll do the rest, (no, I won't buy a bunch of Slim Whitman CD's with your cards).I'll email each of the particpants a daily route sheet that will list how to get to the hotel for the night - most are easy to find - and a suggested fast route, scenic route, food/gas stops, etc. This way, we won't have to ride in one big group and you can go as fast or as slow as you want. And hopefully no one will get lost for very long.If you have any suggestions, now would be a good time to raise them.

Earache
I'm going to bring a tent and MRE's!! :grin:If you really did want to camp, there will be plenty of campsites nearby.I've never camped as it's such a hassle to bring all of the gear along with you on a bike. wolfman
I'm pretty good at pitching a tent...err...I'll camp in the parking lot next to the bikes. :grin:Nah...I'm sure the last thing I will want to do after a long day riding is sleep outside..
