The OhioRiders' Toys for Tots Toy Drive will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Toy donations will be accepted at Ohio Motorcycle at 3747 Park Mill Run Drive in Hilliard from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Types of Toys Needed:

Q : Are particular types of toys more in need than others?

A : The age groups that are in need of donations are the children from ages 0-2 and ages 15-17.

Q : What kinds of toys are not allowed?

A : Toys with military theme. Toys related to weapons/law enforcement type toys. Toys with candy. Used toys. No chemicals (i.e. experimental labs, acid, crystal projects, etc.). The Toys For tots program do not allow these toys. The Toys For Tots of the Marine Corps reserve will not distribute toys fitting this description that are donated to the program to children. Instead, these toys will be donated to another charity organization.

Q : What kind of toys can I donate?

A : New, unwrapped toys preferably around the $10 or above price range. It is unsafe to distribute dangerous or dirty toys that could cause injury or illness to a child.

Monetary contributions will also be accepted.

Again a big thanks goes out to Ohio Motorcycle for allowing us to do this.

I was home on leave and the Recruiter asked if i could deliver some gifts. I agreed. IT was one of the roughest and proudest days i had in the Corps. I was delivering to areas south of Lancaster and north of Logan. Lots of trailers tucked away in the hills. Lots of Grandmothers raising small children. Ive driven these areas loads of times but you never really see how bad some people have it until your knocking on their door. Let me tell you when someone answers the door and your standing there with a load of gifts in your dress blues the tears flow and you know you and some unknown charitable soul just made someones whole year a lot brighter. I delivered a conversion van full of gifts that day. And did it again the following year.

So please donate a toy or two. Give a child and a Marine a very memorable moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Are we helping with delivery?? that would be cool.... I would love to take some teddy bears down to the kids @ childrens ..... that would be cool indeed....

A few years ago my dad and I dressed up (he was santa, I was frosty) and handed out toys and play with the kids at Childrens in the terminal section. Roughest day of my life by far.

You have NO IDEA how much this truly does mean to some people. I grew up EXTREMELY poor. We never had Christmas presents unless extended family sent us stuff. I can remember when i was in 3rd grade we got a delivery from an organization similar to this. They not only had enough food for our entire Christmas dinner BUT my brothers and me actually got like 5 gifts each that year. Wow how times have changed for me. People's generosity and selflessness made us feel so loved that year. I actually got to go to school after Christmas break with new clothes that year too!!! My church does something exactly like this. Luv it!!!
