excell
I need help getting this changed. I think it needs a vice, but I don't have one set up right now. Anyone who's done this before want to donate 10 minutes to help me? Thank you.
Neon07
its really easy there are a series of allen headed screws that hold the top of the WG to the base remove them preferably in a cross pattern. and before you remove the last screw push down on the top to avoid stripping the threads. then slowly let up on the pressure to the wastegate. Swap spring, put top back on and push down to compress the spring and put all the screws back in.
Neon07
no need for a vice you can do it by hand on a work bench or on the car if acessible
excell
Thanks for the post. I figure that was how to do it, but I have no vice. This is a 15lb spring, so it'll be a PITA without it. I'd like to do it with someone present who knows about them to make 100% sure I don't fuck it up. rl
I use a craftsman handiclamp (the bar clamps) they work really well and dont mar the wastegate. It's pretty hard to mess up, you can handle it without a problem.

mkent93
I had a hard time keeping it pushed down far enough to get the bolts back in on my 15psi spring. Luckily right now I'm just running a 3-4psi spring...it was cake to install
