  1. I have a nice set of gently used winter wheels/tires for any of you with a 5-114mm (4.5") bolt pattern looking to run something much better looking than the black steels. I did not have pressure monitor sensors installed when I purchased these. No vibrations were noted when last used so they should still have good balance if you just plan to install them yourself. Also, they're not bent or cracked and have been holding air now since 2010 while sitting on a shelf. Details in the ad. http://columbus.craigslist.org/pts/4220941940.html Email me at mkent930@gmail.com for quickest response.
  2. Been up here since the first week of June....so not long! I go to Stoney Creek about 4 times per week after work and just took the gf to Rochester Mills Saturday night. Great beer! This really is a nice area, for sure! On topic, I would love to have an SRT-8. I'd put snow tires on it and drive it all year round...gas mileage sucks though and I drive 35-40k miles per year.
  3. ha! I live at Hamlin and Rochester Rd also...looked like a nice area and I didn't have much time to look around so I grabbed this apartment at the Oaks at Hampton. Coincidently, a few weeks ago, Ben Clarke and I were partyin at Adobe's at Easton in Columbus and I ran into the owner of the Bordine's Nursery here beside the apartments on Hamlin! Anyways...oddly enough, I work at the Chrysler Tech Center in Powertrain Systems Development. So I may or may not have seen a few of these mysterious Jeeps driving around the area...lol
  4. those rumors always seem to be pretty accurate...its hard to keep word from getting out when thousands of people already know! Mallard, who do you work for up here? I'm up at Rochester Hills now a little north of Detroit working in the auto industry.
  5. If anybody is looking for a weekend activity, I just found this event (about a 3 hour drive from Cbus). I did not get my exhaust or intake in time to drive the Z up there, but I still plan on attending. I recently moved up north of Detroit, so it is a little closer drive for me than for you, but none the less, I thought I should share. http://www.camarosuperfest.com/info.shtml
  6. Radiator is gone. Price lowered on turbo kit. I know there's a few LT1 guys out there wondering where a turbo will take them.
  7. Here is the list of work done to this transmission: Custom shift kit, Fairbanks "Billet" 2 nd servo, Sonnax "Super Hold" 4th servo, .490" Sonnax pressure regulator boost valve, Alto "Wide" Red Lined 2-4 band, 7 Raybestos "Blue" 3-4 frictions, "Kolene" friction coated 3-4 steels OR Raybestos "Z-Pack", Sonnax "High RPM" pump slide spring, "The Beast" H/D sun shell, New Borg-Warner 29 element input sprag, Sonnax "full throttle upshift sleeve" (700) 4L65E front support, 4L65E hardened output shaft, and updated steel piston set for the input drum
  8. i had the craftsman 1.5ton aluminum jack and it broke just outside of warranty...Sears does not sell replacement parts for jack. I bought a really nice low profile steel jack at Summit Racing this winter. It's low and works very nice so far. I've heard alot of the aluminum jacks breaking from various manufactures. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-G1020/ its a little above your $200 budget, but definately seems heavy duty and it is the lowest profile I could find for my 4th gen.
  9. -CPT Race 4L60e originally out of an 11 sec nitrous car in Florida who is an active person at camaroz28.com I bought it in good used condition and had it "refreshed" with new bands and clutches and also had it upgraded to the "Pro Race" build with the 4L65 front support and hardened shafts. I had a cooler line leaking pretty bad and burnt OD out of it the day after I installed it when I attempted to drive to work (it was 90 miles so it had plenty time to leak). After that, CPT got overloaded and I had to find a new guy to rebuild it. Vince Janis in Akron (very reputable nationally in the Buick Grand National world) tore into this transmission then, made sure I had all the upgrades I paid for from CPT and then he installed new frictions, steels and a 2-4 band. The day I got it reinstalled, i drove it 2 miles and busted the 10 bolt on a 2nd-3rd shift...I fixed that and a week later busted a rocker stud in the motor. Point being, this transmission has about 1 tank of gas on it and it shifted flawlessly on 6psi from a TC78 turbo. -2800 Vigilante Single Disc Lockup. I just had it rebuilt at Precision when the trans was rebuilt. It also has less than a tank of gas on it. $1200 obo for the ProRace built 4L60e $400 obo for the Vigilante convertor If somebody wants both, make me an offer. I'll make it a package deal. mkent93@yahoo.com if you have questions
  10. -LT1 Boost log manifold turbo kit with my own front mount intercooler kit complete with Turbosmart Raceport BOV welded inline before the MAF. -Like new (<500mi) TC78 turbo (standard bearing) (This is a pretty complete kit. The only thing I don't know if I still have is the oil return line which will go from the bottom of the turbo to the oil pan. Jon at LT1 Boost said 550-600rwhp through the auto with the t67 was likely with this kit. Jose said with that TC78 it should be 700-800rwhp. I never got the bugs worked out to see a dyno or a track, but at just 5psi it was definately faster than the 12.6 second setup I previously had.) - SOLD---OFI 3.5" aluminum radiator for vertical mounting in the 4th gen Fbod. (The mofo was something around $900 new with the 2 pusher Spal fans. Even with the high underhood temp, the coolant temp stayed between 160-180F when I left it run in a drive way on a 90* day.) Radiator Dimensions are 26 x 3.5 x 12in. Fan Specs: 30102045 Weight: 5.25 lbs. VA13-AP70/LL-63S Fan (13" HP Curved Blade) 13" Curved Blade High Performance Fan / 12V Pusher $275 for both fans (again, like new) $SOLD for the radiator, pressure tank and hoses (like new) Turbo kit: $1650 for the hot and cold parts and another $800 for the turbo. Email me at mkent93@yahoo.com if you want more info. All prices are OBO and I can readily have pictures of everything at your request.
  11. funniest thread I've read in months! $5 would be a bargain for this thread! (I'm an actual person and not an actor being paid by Hwilli)
  12. I hope you keep this thread up to date. I cut the middle black section out of my 97 camaro front bumper to allow air across the intercooler. However, the rest of the car is far too nice to have this hillbilly ricer look so I have also been wondering how the eurothane bumper cover could be modified.
  13. NA mild cam car from what I was told. Brian, no problem, you can call me whenever. Was the fuel pressure ok?
  14. Rob did some work on my IS300 a couple weeks ago and did a fine job! He was a good guy to do business with. Thanks, Rob!
  15. Hmm...I was unaware anybody around here was using Cahall trannys. He is definately terrible about returning phone calls but everyone else I've seen on fbody forums has had nothing but good things to say about the transmissions. Anthony, what are you currently doing for a transmission? If you broke it, I probably will too. ND2RACE who do you trust around here to build a 4L60e? I called HardShift in Johnstown and they wouldn't even give me a quote because he said there was no way he could get a 4L60 to hold up to 450 hp, let alone 750.
  16. The short answer to your question is that I don't have anything to tune Pre-94 cars. If I did have that equipment, it would cost $400. Anyone who can tune 3rd Gens should be able to also tune your 93 Camaro/TA with the same equipment if I understand correctly.
  17. Cahall Performance Transmission. 302-250-1202. He probably won't answer the phone but he'll return your call if you want to do business. He builds a mean 4L60 and has great prices. I think $1600 will get you a fully built tranny if I remember right. The down side is its in Newark, DE but for that kind of money, it is worth it. Plus he has a customer refresh service for $250 + hard parts. I got mine built there and it felt great until my transcooler line blew off on a road trip causing 4th gear to go out of it. He's rebuilding it again as we speak. http://www.cahallperformancetransmissions.com/ Michael
  18. Like Brian said, it looks like there is enough interest to justify the cost. I already have the stuff to tune 94 and 95 OBD1's. The 93 does require some sort of chip burning capability just like the old 3rd gen Fbods. That software/hardware for the 93 and older cars is not very expensive...it is very old and primitive from what I've read and I've only had 2 inquiries of 93 and older Fbods in 3 years. Brian, lets touch base on the phone within the next day or two and get this squared away.
  19. this is a good thought. That car did pretty well against the V6 Camaro in Motortrend. On that note, does your current software do the V6 camaro and Cadillac CTS's with the 3.6 direct injection motors? I don't see anybody getting crazy with internal engine mods on those engines, but I would be very surprised if a 300+ HP V6 in a Camaro doesn't make it in the aftermarket.
  20. I do some of the LT1 tuning for Brian. The LT1 is a complicated tuning platform because the aftermarket is so small. As Brian mentioned earlier, it would be great if HP Tuners would offer LT1 support but the last I heard, they had many other priorities ahead of it and that it may be years if they ever release it. They said there is not enough demand compared to newer cars. I use TunerCats for OBD1 cars and I have both cables required so I can do 94 or 95 Fbody and I believe it will do Vettes and Impalas too, although I have never tried it. With only a hand full of calls concerning LT1's, half of those are for 96-97 Fbods. These are OBD2 and the software and cables are relatively expensive and only 1 company has a tuning solution for these cars. EFI Live has a new solution which requires an LS1 ECM, EFI Live crank reluctor ring, cam reluctor ring, LS1 coil packs and some other stuff....after all of that expense, then you can tune it with standard LS1 tuning software such as HPT. With all this extra expense for a slow market, I usually recommend 96-97 LT1 guys to purchase an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion package for $250 through an online vendor of camaroz28.com. I've been considering buying the stuff to do these OBD2 96-97 fbods, but I would have to see good demand and probably charge an extra fee due to the fact that it costs me $100/car for licenses through JET on top of the cost of the software and hardware. Once GM discontinued the LT1 and put Jesus clones under the hood of every Fbody and Ybody starting in 1998, the LT1 aftermarket crashed hard as a fat kid running the hurdles on track and field day.
  21. oh WTF? I saw the title and thought somebody got a singular breast implant. It would have been disturbing anyways...nice car for a daily!
  22. wow, i haven't laughed that hard in a long time! that was great!
  23. Where can I find this cut-in-half Mach 1, Preston? This is a gold mine waiting to happen...hear me out now. Reinstall front/rear seats, rear suspension, rear axle and rear wheels. Attach a 2 horse harness, hang a lantern where the dome light was and I will have created the muscle car of Amish buggies. I promise they would pay 3x more for this than they would a traditional carriage (and you know Amish have $). ...oh and you wouldn't have to worry about putting one of those big triangular slow moving vehicle signs on the back since Ford already put their logo there! I hope this doesn't offend any of the Amish on CR...
  24. I am not disagreeing that the V10 is not too wide, but Mallett got something a little bigger than a 4 banger into their Sky and Solstice...I love the looks of each when I know there's an LSX under the hood. http://www.mallettcars.com/sky-conversion.htm sweet setup IMHO
