Slimpsy1647545505 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 So I've installed my fair share of cd players and systems. . . and today I decided to upgrade my truck's cd player. . . so I get the harness and everything, wire it up. . . . bought a used pioneer mp3 unit (probably the mistake) and when I plug everything in the small 10 amp fuse in the cd player keeps blowing. . . no matter what. . . . and I've tried and blowed 3 fuses now (this is after hooking back up the battery). I've checked and checked, all wires are correctly connected. . . soooo I guess the cd player is jacked? Or maybe I'm missing something. Slimpsy1647545505 Posted October 6, 2007 Author Report Share Posted October 6, 2007 Bummer Yea it's all wired correctly (ground to ground, accessory to accessory, battery to battery). . . just keeps blowing the head unit fuse everytime the battery is reconnected. . . . if it is fixable, how would I do it? Big Steve Posted October 6, 2007 Report Share Posted October 6, 2007 You can trace your over current also before you diagnose it being fried! That might help also. Volt meter, ghetto current check w/ small light bulb and wire. You should have 12 to 12.5 from ur power, un-bolt and check your transistors also!
