Bam
I'm closing on my first house a week from tomorrow and am planning on gutting the kitchen and 1st floor bathroom ASAP. I'm mainly looking for any place that offers 0% for 12months+, on things like kitchen cabinets, appliances, exterior windows, and anything to remodel a kitchen or bathroom. Any recommendations on places to get a good deal would be nice too. Thanks

They won't have that advertised, but as long as you ask a manager or salesman first, they will do it.
verse
I'm closing on my first house here at the end of the month. We are looking for the same thing, we just need appliances though.
Bam
Awesome! I was actually at lowe's for 3 hours this evening, priced out all new cabinets, countertops, appliances, toilet, sinks, vanity's, etc. Do you work at Lowe's? If so do you know anything about the Pella windows they sell? I need 21 windows ASAP, and they've got a good price for a name brand window. Thanks for the tip, I seriously considered saying something to a manager to the effect of, "I'll spend this $15k here....BUT I need 0% for at least a year" So it's nice to know that up front. Oh yeah, you've got a PM!

Best I've seen on appliances are HHGregg, 18months, but might be able to stretch it to 24 months, just gotta give 'em hell. Where you are buying, just curious, congrats as well, scary/exciting at the same time, eh?

Oh yeah, you've got a PM! I worked at the one in Dublin for 2 years. If you mention my name, they'll still know me and make sure you get the 12 months. For windows, go to the millwork dept. and talk to Tim or Nancy, they know their stuff.
Bam
Sweet, thanks again man, I've got a buttload to buy there in the next month. Do they make comission or anything there? Is there any room for negotiation or whatever in the prices, aka markup? Also, do they price match? thanks

Is there any room for negotiation or whatever in the prices, aka markup? Also, do they price match? thanks Specialists make commission. For instance, if you buy a washer and dryer and they ask to get your name and number, they're saving that on their login to get commission. The only negotiation they'll do is on clearance stuff. They'll price match local competition, ala Home Depot, Wal Mart etc. It has to be the same brand and model, though. They'll take an additional 10% off of the competitor's price but be sure to check them up on that as the cashier may not know and may not change the price. Also, I was just rereading this and realized it sounded thrown-off what I said. The 0%/12mths is if you have a Lowe's Credit Card, I just assumed that's what you were talking about. Bam
Well yeah, I figured, I am going to apply for a lowe's CC in a few weeks, so that won't be a problem, I just want more time than 6months. thanks again.
TheHaze
Yeah, they can always do 12 months. If the limit they give you isn't enough you can apply for more and they'll let you know within a minute or two. Sometimes there's a promo if you open a new Lowe's card they'll give you 10% off your entire first purchase. Even if it's not running they'll still give it to you most likely if you ask. I'm hoping I get a decent amount, I've never had a problem in the past, but then again come friday I'll be $110k in debt, lol. Oh well. NTHER91
pulling your credit so soon to closing is never a good idea and the 0% duration is based on your credit so dont be stunned if it comes back with only 6 months
Drewhop
pulling your credit so soon to closing is never a good idea and the 0% duration is based on your credit so dont be stunned if it comes back with only 6 months If the contract is locked in but not put thru now would be perfect before his score is effected by the large purchase. 1 day to 2 years is where the score usually takes the biggest hit. I could be wrong but i think im right about the general time frame.

Any person with a LCC can get 0% interest for 12 months.
