31rx7
The SCCA has two events this weekend at National Trails. An autocross on Saturday the 20th, and a Rallycross on the 21st. Autocross novice guide: http://ovr-scca.org/_ovrclub/noviceguid...ocross.asp Schedule for the day and basic event conduct: http://ovr-scca.org/_autocross/rules/rules.asp Rallycross info: http://ovr-scca.org/_rallycross/rallycrosshome.asp Schedule and basic event conduct: http://ovr-scca.org/_rallycross/rules.asp Don't get overwhelmed by the rules. The main things are: have a safe and sound car, and show up. They have a novice chair person that shows you the ropes, and most people are more than happy to assist. To register for either event: http://www.dlbracing.com (Note: The DLBracing site is not particularly well laid out or user friendly. Frankly, it stinks. Select October 2007 and Ohio Valley Region SCCA in the drop downs, and go from there. You will need to register with the site to pre-register for the events. You can also register at the evnt site, but it is $5 more and they limit the on site entries) I will be running either the autocross in my 89 Civic Si (STS #81) and just decided to run the Rallycross as I was offered a free ride, a black Golf PF $122. Life is good. Rich

Rally Pat
I dont know what the rule on that is, but you will probably be in XP, racing against an LS1 FD.
Crossle
Well, you have to have belts, i have out dated Gforce 5 pts, and they would be fine. There is one more event after this as well.....
AJ
any specific way the belts need to be installed?
Crossle
Well, i have seen them bolted to the rear deck above the passenger seat, on a formula car they went through the engine and onto the rear frame cross bar, mine are bolted to the rear fire wall (MR2). Not too sure if you are aware of this or not, but you dont want to mount the shoulder straps lower than your shoulders. I.E. bolting them to the floor where your rear seat was...... As long as they are secure, and not mounted in a fashion that would nominate you for a WTF were you thinking picture. Where were you thinking about mounting them? AJ
well i really have no where to mount them right now so i would have to fab a temp bracket for the shoulder harness. i can make one real quick that will bolt in to the factory rear seat belt holes. Dr. Apex
Rich, we have a thread going about this weekend but this doesn't hurt. I believe there are no real restrictions on how the belts are mounted except that if harnesses are used the shoulder belts can't be outside the safe angles from shoulder to mount point and their mounted to a reinforced place. But I'm not 100% sure and can't find anything in the solo rule book.
AJ
then i will just bolt them to the rear package tray and the factory lower point mounts and call it a day. just have to jack the front end up tomorrow and i'll be good to go. That will probably work. The formal rules are at http://www.scca.org/documents/Solo%20Rules/2007SoloRules.pdf This is not the easiest read. Short story is that if you don't think it will sustain a good crash, then it probably isn't appropriate. Not that you should crash at an autocross. Dr. Apex
Fun day today, I think I won STU and beat AS though those guys were really off the pace today for some reason. I like the Falken Azenis, they really grip well and are super easy to control at the limit.

Dr. Apex
I heard you bitch slapped Rahal's son I rode with Simmons during his heat. Meh....He was sluggish to start but he put together a really good run his last time out and was about 2 secs faster which is probaly where he should of been considering he was on r comps and me on street tires. I hadn't met him before but he's a really nice guy, got to talk car setup and just shoot the shit for a bit and was nice talking to him. Dr. Apex
Kickass fun today, man rallyx is fun as hell. Though it probably wasn't the fastest way to do it I was sliding all over the place like a drift car, seriously fun stuff that everyone should try.
