Drewhop
I need some info on things they check. i have got the basic information about what i need receipts for. Problem being is i got a hand written receipt for a parts car i bought that is notarized. Now i cant find any resource to look up the 13 digit vin to see its history. Carfax/autocheck dmv.org all of them are setup only to look at cars 1981 or newer and only 17digit vin. Anyone have advice as to where i might be able to find some information. Skinner
depending on the car there should be a fan site/forum that has a VIN breakdown.
Drewhop
Vin breakdown is easy. I cant find a place to check the history of a actual car. Previous owners so on so forth. Basically when restoring a classic vehicle you have to show a receipt of all the parts you bought for the car. The guy we bought the parts car from did not have a title wanted to check the history on the parts car before we take any parts off of it.
