AJ
3 speed, can be built to hold lots-o-power. 1:1 3rd gear. a 4L80E is pretty much a 400 with over drive.
Scotty2Hotty
Holds more power than $148k a year can buy.
koolrayz
choice of three first gear ratio's .210 .248 .275 second is .157 third 1:1 to big, heavy and inificient for the FD use the th350
V8 Beast
Dont get it... Unless you are going to put down more power in the FD than you did in the vette.

Tinman
As light as the FD will be, you should slip and slide with a powerglide. Both the th350 and th400 will cost some mph and tenths over the powerglide.
V8 Beast
If you are going to be putting down that much I say go 4L80E with a trans brake.
Dave1647545494
are you building a race car or a street car? I'd run a glide in an all out race machine and the 4l80e in a street strip the car your building is light enough to use a gear compatible with a 3 speed but anything much over a 3:42 sucks on the highway
Drew2o2
Why not use a Gforce T56
Nitrousbird
With a light car like that, I'd say a Glide for sure.
AJ
unless its always from a dig a glide would be pretty useless from a roll.
Drew2o2
Are you building the fd only for straight line or are you still gona take it thru the twistys?
fattyona12
The hot street guys have switched from powergildes to full crazy built th400's and have picked up a tenth or 2. They can keep the engine up higher in the rpms with the 3 gears then the rpm drop from 1st to drive. Also gives a harder hit off the line. Now these are 4000-5000 dollar trans and crazy convertors that you won't wanna drive on the street.
AJ
my old boss switched from a PG to a 400 and that helped him run a 6.94 1/4@ 200 mph. its a twin turbo BB in a tube chassis.
