baron_
Anyone have some recommendations for me? If you're anything like my house during these cold months...we're watching a lot of movies - and we're kind of tired of the new release area. Any older or lesser known movies that you'd suggest picking up? I'll start: "he was a quiet man" Damn good - reminds me of 'falling down'. Also, was impressed with "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster (relatively popular, so might not really qualify)

baron_
Seen the warriors at least a dozen times... Might as well recommend Boondock Saints, too....at that rate I'd consider both rather popular
Rally Pat
Versus and Azumi, both by Ryuhei Kitamura. Great movies. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275773/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384819/
The Pikey
The Wanderers. I actually like it better than The Warriors. Peace

Also, was impressed with "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster (relatively popular, so might not really qualify) I just noticed that Falling Down was in there. GREAT movie! I have it on DVD. As has been said though, Boondock Saints, Reservoir Dogs, both fantastic.

blue98ls1
"Bigger than the sky" - I liked this movie quite a bit. I don't think it was advertised very well. I walked right past it for almost 2 months at the local blockbuster. Whoever designed the DVD cover, didn't really portray the movie very well. smokin5s
Big Trouble in Little China that has to be one of the worst movies ever... I remember when that was playing all the time on USA or TBS or one of those channels back in the 80's (or 90's... can't remember)

Jimmy Notchback
goto North Campus Video and cruise around for awhile, I promise you'll find something that interests you and it only costs 2.50 to rent. The staff is a bunch of movie nerds who are more than happy to answer your questions. The documentary section alone is enough to keep you busy for more than a few nights.
