This a neighbors computer. He tried using Spybot and it said it could not remove it. I am thinking I need to boot off a jump key or cd and try cleaning it that way.

Try downloading a copy of AVG's anti spyware. I've got the Internet Secutriy package, and I haven't had an infection since I got it. The free version should do to get rid of that infection.

Realistically, if you have that you have other stuff. Format and start over, you should do that every year or two anyway.

Yeah Ad aware is the best I've found, free, and gets updated every couple of days.

Yeah it is not too bad, Windows Defender. Ships with Vista, downloadable for XP.

 

If you cannot get rid of it with Hijack This and trend micro housecall just re-install windows, faster and less headache.`
