Prodeje79
We would like to swap houses out of Pickerington to another good school district around Columbus. We are not too far from the 33 and Hill Rd / Diley Rd exit. We are a little over 3 miles away. I do not want to post the exact location. We are close to the intersection of W Columbus St and Long Rd, but we are off on a less traveled side street. Just some brief stats about the house..... -5 bedroom -2.5 baths -hardwood floors throughout entire house, including all bedrooms. Stairs and upstairs hallway has carpet. -basement with wet bar -new windows -updated kitchen -walking distance to high school, middle school, and elementry school

RX-7 Addict
so if you were to sell your house, and list it online, get a realtor, etc, wouldn't you want a potential buyer to know the address? I understand the concern for privacy but most people want to know exactly where a house is that they are considering moving into.

Clifford Automotive
Its pretty common. And I see whats hes doing. If someone is interested, they will contact him, and the two will swap info. Instead of doing it publically. Little different then selling.

Casper
need i say more Pickerington is one of the best school districts in the state, so I'm going to say he isn't leaving Pickerington looking for better schools. I'd assume by that he meant he wants to swap to another good school district.

Casper
Probably the ridiculous taxes. Cheaper than the other good school districts around Columbus (IE: Dublin, Hilliard, Powell, Upper Arlington, etc).

FormulaMatt
http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2007/08/15/Grades.ART_ART_08-15-07_A1_6B7KAKI.html Eleven slipped a notch, including the two districts, Pickerington and Worthington, which fell two notches. i can keep gettin more info but i'm not gonna cluster up his thread, i guess pick downs not that good now is it? I hate to jack up the thread too, but these results are a joke when it come to rating a school system. Taken from that article (and quoted below for the lazy ), it shows why they dropped. You cant hold special needs kids to the same standard you do as non standard needs and expect to hold high scores. If they would not have included the special needs kids, the district would have achieved a 17 out of 17 scoring excellent. Granted this only shows Worthington, but I would bet the same situation might apply to Pickerington. Subgroups must have a minimum of 30 to 45 kids. So there are some groups that aren't big enough at an individual school to be counted but become an official subgroup when added together at the district level. That's why Worthington rated lower as a district than its schools did. The district met every state standard except on the eighth-grade social-studies test, and 14 of Worthington's 17 schools received "excellent" grades. (The three others were rated "effective.") "These are the best results we have ever received," said Jennifer Wene, director of teaching and learning. "Our rating went down but our performance went up. My analysis of the report is that we couldn't be more proud." Worthington has 10 subgroups that must meet federal goals. The three that missed were special-education students in both math and reading and children with limited English in reading.
