Diamonds
Backstory: My fiance's grandfather has a 1984 mercedes 380SL that he is looking to repair, whether or not he is doing it to sell it is unknown. to the best of my knowledge i think that he wants it to drive around the neighborhood at his lake house. Regardless, take a look at this work order that he got from a euro-specialty shop and tell me if you think the prices are fair, if you know of anywhere that will do it for cheaper, and if all of the items on the work order are "absolutely necesarry" and/or what ones he doesn't NEED to have performed. keep in mind that the numbers dont add up exactly because there is tax and a few other small misc. charges http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/s15driftking/WORKORDER.jpg
Patrick
Is this from MB Star?
99FLHRCI
Are there individual prices or do they just lump it all in a total? A breakdown would be much less shady and easier for people to say if it is a fair price or not.

The Antenna seal is most likely a "not needed" item. Are they charging for the Flex/Converter/trans R&I ? That should be included in the Rear main replacment. All the others are just needed because of sitting so long. Have you checked with Blagoi's ? Or was that quoted from them? another place that has good experience with older MB's , BMW's is Evans Auto on Morse rd.
Diamonds
^^^ ichecked with Blagoi's, they are getting back to me... the other place quoted me 4050.00 as for the brakes. the rotors come individually, and the pads are sold in pairs. CRed05
I know someone that has a 1984 MB 300D and he used to take it to a place in Powell. Im not in contact with him anymore so i cant ask him to make sure or what the name of the place is, but i believe its right off of Powell Road, before the RR tracks, after the UDF, AutoAssets etc. on the right. I always see a bunch of older benz's parked there.

Acec
as for the brakes. the rotors come individually, and the pads are sold in pairs. It wouldn't change the parts estimate much , but they should change it to reflect that.

NOS50
Niday Automotive in Powell does a lot of Mercedes.Brian is a nice guy and VERY picky about his work.I used to sell him parts when I worked for Crown and he would refuse parts if the boxes had been open before they got to him.If we had one on the shelf with a open box he would say order me one and bring it over tomorrow. smineb
When it comes to repairing an older mercedes, 4k isn't outta the ballpark. But i also would check in with Niday Automotive in Powell and see what they can do for you. 1-614-798-1394

Science Abuse
I always used MB Classic in Cincinnati ( I lived in Columbus). Outstanding work, he specializes in the older stuff and is worth the hour and a half drive.
