Draco-REX
Ok, I was doing some thinking and, being detached from the f-body world for 10-odd years, I have some questions about the new Camaro. I've always been interested in the shorthand enthusiasts use to identify cars. We use "FB, FC, or FD" to talk abour RX-7s, AE86 for the popular corolla chassis. Hell, I drive a GDC and a GDG. Now, the previous Camaro and Firebird were referred to as "F-bodys," being the platform designation from GM (F). Is GM going to resurrect the F designation for the new Camaro, does it have a new one, or does it share a platform with another car in GM's lineup? (WAYYYY back when, there were rumors of the Caddy Catera platform) Now, regardless of the above answer, does the f-body community refer to the new Camaro as a "F-body?" And ultimately, does the community refer to the new Camaro as a 5th generation Camaro, or something else? I'm just curious..
thorne
I thought it was on the Zetta Platform but I can't rember.
Guest Removed
Its not f-chassis. so no its not going to be a F-body. More then likely Its going to be Z-body and yeah i would be called the 5th gen.
l36tols1
Yeah 5th gen is what I will call it too.. I love the looks of the new Camaro but I could get a used Viper/Z06 for the same price as a new Camaro.
