Flyin Miata
I have a 93 civic dx, i usually got around 31-34 in the city and anywhere from 34-42 on the highway, depending on how i fast i drove it, how close i tailgated, etc. I checked fuel economy on every tank in the 80k miles i've owned it. I would say my all time average for freeway is 36-37. Once, I got freakishly good gas milage when i tailgated a semi truck from columbus to latrobe and back, going 55 the whole way, and literally 7-10 feet off his bumper, but if i actually say the number, everyone will tell me to get lost. I wanna hear it...

ODoyle
I think that is the K24. It seems all teh k-series engines like the fuel. The DOHC Vtec likes the fuel past 5500rpms...But out of vtec they are gas sippers just like mine..But what fun is a honda if you dont beat it like a 5 dollar hooker
04silvrz
Yeah, the damn things won't move till you get to Vtec. It was impossiable for me to not rev that high. I do miss bouncing the rev limiter off of 8,400 RPMs though.. haha
87GT
I have never owned a honda engine with vtec and I probably never will.

04silvrz
Not really, unless you don't like good gas mileage and a lot of miles.
04silvrz
i take that back, i think they have a couple v6's that suck. like the one in the SUV, my friend blew it up twice.
Adam
No. Are you? more than a little, good gas mileage isn't in the 30's, and I don't like how car manufacturer's are passing it off as good
04silvrz
i agree, the new comercials for cars are ridiculous. 32 MPG HIGHWAY. I wouldn't be pushing that as good gas mileage at all. If the car gets 40 HIGHWAY then, that's pretty good mileage.
TonyG
1998 Civic DX Hatch, get 38-40 with mixed driving. Recent road trip to ATL avg of 80 mph and got 39. Gotta love that.
