cam changing help...

hal.... i have a 2 car garage on my house and i should have most of what i need to remove everything i hope.... so if i would get you too help i might just need you to help me with the install so for a few hours or so..... still not set on doing it my self though and from the looks and talking to texas speed it will be next weekend before i can get everything going...

That's fine, just let me know. I will bring some tools along that will make it a alot easier. Do you have an air compressor?

 

I would also suggest buying a longer crank bolt, I forgot to mention that earlier.

You don't need to raise the engine Craig, it can be done easily without. All you need to do is remove all the bolts and let it drop that inch or so. That gives you enough room to get to the pickup tube bolt.

 

This is true but keep a pen magnet handy, I know when I was reinstalling mine, I dropped the damn bolt into the upper portion of the oil pan and was able to snatch it before it rolled down to the lower portion.

I needed two magnets when I did that. It dropped all the way down :rolleyes:

 

If you stuff rags in the oil pan, the bolt won't fall.
