Spidey2721
Have a 4.6 out of a wrecked explorer. it has very low miles on it. been sitting for a 2-3 years. before install in vehicle would you go thru and replace bearings, lash adjusters etc etc?? oh, edit: been sitting indoors on a engine stand. oil pan, front cover, valve covers so on and so forth all on motor. has oil in it. shm21284
I'd run it, but what the fuck do I know
Browning
I'd just install it, change the oil and see if she fires
Cordell
I'd just install it, change the oil and see if she fires +1 This is what I'd do, if it's been sealed up it should run. As with anything you don't really know until you try. However if you can't afford for it not to work, go through it, or if you want to do something other than stock in the future, go through it. Just my $.

Chadz89GTA
Make sure you prime it before you fire it, should be fine as long as you change the oil.
Spidey2721
so how would i go about priming the oil in the 4.6. done it before on a 20 year old motor but nothing newer.
GSXRAntwon
Remove the ecu fuse so the car doesnt throw spark or fuel while you turn it over for about 5-10 seconds, that will prime the oiling system.
72POS
if it is still out, i'd also go ahead and replace the rear main seal.. Just for piece of mind. and Like Antwon sugested about building oil pressure.
