About a mile from our home in tennessee there are 2 pipes that come out of the ground that constanly are shooting flames to burn off remaining gas, and I believe there are a few out towards orient. The efforts to save the gas would probably be more expensive than just burning it. Plus, they burn it so that large amount of gas doesn't kill everything near the hole.
