kenny
Within the last two years??? I highly doubt it has changed since I raced there last. I'll be back with some more 28x9 ET Drags this season. Count on that.
Casper
Isn't that the tire that replaced the D208 (aka, absolute shit riding on plastic feel, won't hook for a damn, D208)? Why such little pressure? Do you run 15psi on the street when it hooks? I don't think so, but I'm not sure. I can tell you it was recommended to me and so far is my favorite street tire. It's not a drag tire by any means, but is a great all around tire. Handles well, brakes well, etc. And like I said, the only place I have a traction problem is at Trails. I tried running full pressure (35ish lbs) at Trails and spun everywhere. Dropped the pressure down until I felt safe. No wiggle. Spins when I shift to 2nd and to 3rd. Probably the only place you've got 15psi in it, as well. 95% sure that tire is what replaced the D208, which was an utter pile of shit. There is a reason Dunlop is no longer in GP (not talking about the single tire rule, either).

There is a reason Dunlop is no longer in GP (not talking about the single tire rule, either). Only place I've had to drop the pressure. You're right, it did replace the D208. However, nobody seems to think the Qualifier sucks. It's got great reviews on Kneedraggers and Motorcycle News. I don't know why you're arguing about this, defending Trails. If the place didn't suck, the big races wouldn't be moving. I'm not alone here saying Trails sucks. Norwalk > Trails with or without private rentals. The only good thing about Trails is how close it is to my house.
kenny
I just think you're putting blame in the wrong place. Try it on a worthwhile tire and I bet the result is different. The D208 got decent reviews too, it still doesn't make it worth a shit on a bike making that kind of power. It's also possible you weren't in the groove. Maybe rubber hadn't been laid down, maybe there was breakage leaking a slick spot that went unnoticed. Trails isn't a bad track. As good as Norwalk? No, but nothing (aside from Bristol) on the East Coast is, so that is a moot point.
kenny
One last note: when I say I haven't raced there in the last two years I'm not counting being out there as a tech bitch with friends. I've been down the track, I've seen friends cars hook, I've seen bikes trap well over that, all without issue. That's where I'm coming from. I'd blame the Dunlops. That leads me to believe it's not the tires. I'm not a rocket scientist or a great drag racer, but logic tells me the surface prep at Trails might not be that good....... Oh, and I've been to trails for several events, not just CR track days. The track is always bad. BTW: Anyone been down to Charter lately? Lots-O-Rubber on the pavement. Some big boys have been out there. Great traction.

I'm just saying from all my experience, Trails is a far better track than most people want to give it credit for. It urks me to hear it get slammed for Top Fuel level cars not being fast there from someone driving a 12 second (at best) car. Another factor is track temp, which plays a BIG part in if anything is going to bite. It is what it is, I'll be out there getting the boot this year fo sho. OGRE
the difference between Trails and Norwalk is like the difference between takinf a shit in an overflowing porta-potty with crap on the walls and no toilet paper, and taking a dump in the comfort of your own home with your newest issue of your favorate car magizine in hand.. Fixed.
