steelhorse
I've got a 87 sporty 883 hugger, 1200 conv, and I'm trying to find out if I can swap the 4-speed gears for the 5 speed from a newer model. I'm revving pretty high past 60mph and I'd like to be able to run the highway with this bike if possible. It was converted to belt drive before I bought it as well. I can swap the pulleys for a higher ratio obviously, but it's geared pretty tall in first and I have to slip the clutch quite a bit to get going as it is. any ideas? Reed44
well since harley uses separate transmissions from there motors you could contatc baker transmission and buy a different trans. there six speed trans are very nice. the sportster may be diferent though. I am not 100 percent sure they have a separate trans. I may be wrong.
