The poppet valves leak, and can leak anywhere into the manifold (they dry out, harden, then leak). Super common problem.

 

Otherwise, it's a pretty common motor (excluding the OBD 1.5 stuff, which aren't better, just a PITA to find parts for).

 

So is there a way to tell if they are leaking without pulling the intake off? Will it run weird or anything like that?

No, it will just run like ass and probably smoke. There are also plastic fuel lines inside the intake that connect the CPI injector assy. to the fuel inlet fitting. In addition to the CPI injector, these plastic lines are fairly prone to failure as well (I can tell you from personal experience), and the dealer sells a repair kit for this. Good engine other than these issues, both of which are really easy (just not cheap) to fix.
