Just got off the phone today with Ken down at Carr's custom finishes in Orient ohio , gave the go ahead for mini tubs, I choose steel over aluminum. Going to try to get down there thursday and grab a picture or two. They expect the car to be done end of febuary. I am excited. :D

Don't know if anyone on here knows Ken , but he has put together a nice little classic car body paint shop , and he uses the frame guy named Dave from tanksy toyota to sublet out with him on welding. They have a nice scrap book of cars they have finished for customers.

Its all they do is body and paint for custom cars , no collision shit or mechanical work there. They do fiberglass work as well. And when I say body work I mean these guys are doing the old classics and working metal.

Here is a picture of Ken from december 2008 working with fiberglass at his shop off hwy 62 down there in Orient.

Matter of fact a old veteran I sold my spare th350 to off craigslist over summer 2008 , mentioned "a guy in orient" that did his chevelle and his sons camaro. He was swearing up and down that the shop was a diamond in the rough. If anybody knows how difficult it can be to find old classic car body shops that only do just that , this probably was the guy he was talking about. I betcha. My brother works at Tansky's with Dave his welder guy so thats where I ran into them.

Inside the VFN fiberglass doors , Ken fabbed up a plate of steel inside the door with studs welded to it. On the outside are individual plates with rivets , the doors can simply be unbolted from the car.

Ken molded up a section of the original urethane bumper filler with 'glass and this piece will be molded to the sectioned rear bumper shown above after it is chopped in about half of what you see here and then frenched to the body so that the rear bumper matches the panel contours. Give her that roll pan cuda look.

This piece of fiberglass Ken molded will be chopped and molded to the front bumper and then frenched into the body to give the car that cuda look. Lots of weight disappearing all over the car, inner bumper brace alone in the front weighs 70lbs, add the shell and subtract the glass and she's on a slim fast diet.

looking good man...are they just doing body work or are they painting it too?

Going to shoot it at Tankys with paul , we might even blue chrome the whole car with paul's new shit he has going on.

Although Ken is a great painter and has a booth , here is a vette hood he has hanging on the wal when you walk in , Done with ghost work. I would have Ken shoot any of my cars.

You can barely notice the ghost flames ken slapped on this piece.
