So if I want that Ill need to grab a water pump with standard rotation that sticks out the same length as my Alt and Crank correct?.

 

I will pay you back with hustling this summer...:cool:

same length as the pump you have now. i have ran underdrive pulleys this way many times.

New wheels fit like a glove, 5x4.5 5.5 inch back spacing and i could prolly fit a decent size rear tire under it with some stock suspension....

 

Both wheels sit flush with the fenders however in the rear the fenders will need to be massaged so it does not rub when takin ober some large bumps. However so fare I will def be pleased with how the wheels will fit. they are what Ive always wanted, Sucks however They will be gold in a way. But Im sure the satin black and gold wheels will look even better.

 

Heres the engine on the engine stand and the T-5 sittin on the ground.

Now hopefully when I find the numbers on the T-5 it will be a actual world class trans and out of a 90-91 with the best stuff in it.

 

The motor will be black along with the trans, The harmonic balancer looks really ratty might get a new one but Im gonna look into them going bad and or the benefits of using a fresh one.

 

Pulley's have seen some better days, this things got tons of rust all over it.

 

Oil pan is starting to rust so Im gonna replace it and or try to fix it, It will be painted gold to match the wheels

 

Heres of the Oil Pan and the Pulley. Found out in order to pull the pan or do a Clutch the whole motor has to come out.

 

Good thing its out...

This kinda made me ponder a lil oil in the bell housing of the trans.....

As you can see the Engine bay has accumulated some rust. Im going to be painting it black and cleaning as much rust up as possible. sub frame has or was never been painted and the de powered power steering rack has tons of shit just fallin off of it...lol

as for the front of the car I will be removing that round bar and pushing everything forward as much as possible, as for the turbo will be taking up new room and I would like to get the radiator as high and as far away from the motor as possible underneath where the hood latch is to as cool the FMIC and the RAD.

 

I would love to keep the flip ups but Im still thinking I can delete them somehow and run some really bright fog lights?

 

 

Im pretty motivated on this project as its my first car i will build/ put together.

 

Today I picked up my new Air gun and was looking at a Mig welder.....

 

Thats all I got I will take some pics as I break the motor apart tommorow...

Uhhhh

 

 

Those are not the right pistons for that motor at all. There are no valve reliefs. at least put a set of correct 5.0HO pistons in it. Don't re-use those.

Motor might be an E6.......

 

from what he says there will be valve interferiance with the 1.7 rockers I will put in it.

 

Gonna find numbers on the block and hope to god someone just changed the pistons. If not Ill need another short block...

New pistons are only $37 each at jegs...

 

You just need to be sure the rods and crank between the E6 and E7 motors are the same. Those might not be E6 pistons but they for sure are not the standard E7 5.0 HO pistons.

Thats a lot of money into a junk set of pistons, I dont know that there is even enough material to fly cut them and still have them be strong enough to do what he wants.

I have a complete shortblock from an 89 GT if I can get access to it its yours

 

as for the harmonic balancer mine was all shitty and the rubber was bad and I blew it off the motor shifting at 7k once (long story) I got a fluid dampr balancer kinda pricey but look nice and are supposed to be good for some power.

 

That crank pulley looks like a bbk underdrive either that or frpp

What cam and heads are you running?

Well I thought the Heads were e7's but I dunno know that I just found out the block isnt e7's...

 

I gonna be workin on the car/block from 830-noon on my break from work. Ill give ya a call or you can call me if you would like. 4195417522.

 

Gonna port the shit out of the Iron heads and a stock cam with 1.7rockers.

I could only wish. I got stock heads. Buying that and putting my heads on it would be like giving the jolly green giant a small hole to breathe thru... lol
